The ACC is a really good basketball conference. That's something Dave Leitao learned the hard way.
The former DePaul Blue Demons head coach resigned today from his head coaching job at the University of Virginia.
Allow me to represent DePaul fans and alumni in saying: that's what you get for leaving Lincoln Park.
It was Leitao who coaxed DePaul's administration into joining the Big East Conference. A conference in which the Blue Demons have been clearly overmatched since joining. Then after getting that nice little pay day, Leitao jumped ship.
Now, it was expected for him to move on from DePaul as he was one of Jim Calhoun's top assistants when at UConn. Sources said Leitao was rumored to be Calhoun's hand-picked replacement. So, when Leitao skipped town for the tobacco-filled pastures of Virginia, it came to a shock to many Blue Demons fans.
So, here's to you Dave. I hope you land on your feet. And by land on your feet, I mean fall flat on your face somewhere. Hopefully not at SIU, because really, bait-and-switching DePaul -- my mother's alma mater -- doesn't fly with me.

You are totally correct. I will forever despise Leitao for making that jump to the Big East when the team clearly wasn't ready for that level of competition.
