Tom Izzo came into Motown Madness having never lost to a Big East team in the NCAA Tournament. Conversely, Jim Calhoun hadn't lost a Final Four game. And in a game of something's gotta give, Michigan State bested UConn 82-73.
Somewhere, there's a columnist who is happy Tom Izzo prevailed over Jim Calhoun.
And I'm pretty darn sure that columnist would be overjoyed if North Carolina could do to Villanova what the Spartans did to the Huskies.
