Oh yeah, there's a college basketball game tonight too

March started with 65 teams vying for a shot at a national championship. Well, kind of. OK, not really. You didn't really think Chattanooga had a chance to dance its way to Detroit, did you?

So, really, there were only a handful of teams that had legit title hopes. After weeding out the pretenders, it comes down to two tonight as Motown Madness concludes the men's college basketball season. And from a ratings point of view: it's a match made in heaven.

Hometown Michigan State will have the empathizing viewing public on its side as it will receive the support from Big Ten Nation and the blue collar folks, alike. North Carolina, the preseason favorites who are looking to erase memories of last year's embarrassing Final Four flop, brings to the fray a national recognition that should bring in viewers from coast to coast.

The Tar Heels might be wearing the home whites, but there's no doubt that Sparty will be overly represented only 92 miles away from the East Lansing, Mich., campus.

Both teams bring star power to the court (Lucas vs. Lawson), in the stands (Jordan vs. Magic) and on the bench (Williams vs. Izzo). No matter where your allegiances are, as a college hoops fan, you should be able to appreciate this match-up on paper.
