FedEx BCS National Championship Game - Oklahoma v Florida
Oklahoma Sooners football coach Bob Stoops is taking his fair share of (deserved) hits after his top-ranked team fell to the Florida Gators in the national title game.

After winning the 2000 national title, Stoops' squad is 3-5 in bowl games since finishing 13-0 en route to winning the 2000 Orange Bowl. By the way, one of those bowl wins was a win in the friggin' Holiday Bowl.

The Sooners are 0-for-their-last-five BCS games and the high-powered offenses that have featured Heisman winning QBs Jason White and Sam Bradford and NFL All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson has been stifled at every turn.

Wanna know the highest point-total for said offensive juggernauts? 19 in an absolute shellacking at the hands of Southern California.

No doubt that Oklahoma has an elite program that is talented enough to win a national title, but Stoops has struggled in his opportunities in big games.

Speaking of which, Sam Bradford picked the worst/best time to play a bad game. It was the worst time, seeing that a normal Bradford game would have yielded at least 300 passing yards and three touchdowns and possibly would have ended with a Sooner national championship last night.

The good news is that his struggles in big games (remember his two picks that cost Oklahoma the Texas game) might scare away the Detroit Lions, who hold the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.

I never thought I would see a win-win situation after a loss, but here I am one day after the BCS title game blogging about it.

If my name was Bob Stoops, I have my people contact the New York Jets or Denver Broncos' people and try my hand at the pro game A.S.A.P
